THE ADRIATIC SEA ON THE RIMINI RIVIERA
Welcome to Savignano Mare, a small jewel of fine, golden sand, by the Adriatic Sea, located between Rimini and Cesenatico, right on the most famous Riviera in Europe. It’s beach with clean shallow water is the ideal environment for a quiet and relaxing break, especially for families with children.
Camping Villaggio Rubicone is the perfect starting point for excursions and biking and walking tours, in an area rich in art, history and extraordinary places to visit. You don’t want to miss the walk to the spectacular wooden bridge that connects the two banks, at the mouth of the river Rubicone. The walk starts in San Mauro Mare, a small seaside resort only 200 meters from the campsite, and ends in Gatteo Mare.
You stroll past Oleander bushes and other typical species of Mediterranean flowers, along the path between the beach and the entrance of the campsite, up to the historic Roman bridge, from where you will feel practically suspended in open air, while the boats underneath you leave the dock.
The most photographed point of the bridge? Obviously the one where you find the bronze bust of Julius Caesar with the famous phrase “alea iacta est” (the die is cast).
Besides the enchanting beach of Savignano Mare, you will find various famous beach areas, such as Cesenatico (5 km), Rimini (12 km), and Riccione (25 km) which are all easily reachable from the campsite. True architectural pearls and world famous art cities in the area count Ravenna (28 km), San Marino (30 km), Florence and Venice (to which the campsite regularly organize excursions for guests). For those who are passionate about cycling and mountain biking, it is possible to explore the inland of Romagna via the endless biking routes through the breathtaking landscapes of Valmarecchia and Montefeltro with antique and picturesque medieval villages with charming authentic Roman and Byzantine fortresses and castles, such as Sant’Arcangelo di Romagna, Verucchio, Torriana, Gradara and San Leo.
Within a short distance from Camping Villaggio Rubicone, you will find some of the largest and most famous water parks and amusement parks in Italy: Mirabilandia in Ravenna, Fiabilandia and Italia in miniatura near Rimini, Aquafan and Oltremare in Riccione and the Aquarium of Cattolica. Furthermore, for those interested in shopping, the largest shopping mall on the Riviera, Romagna Center, is located only 800 meters from the campsite. It counts more than 100 stores, a huge supermarket, 1 bowling center, 1 game center and a movie theater.
The location of the campsite, right by the sea and surrounded by unspoiled nature, strengthened by the short distance to San Mauro Mare (200 meters) and Gatteo Mare (500 meters) as well as the above mentioned sights, is without a doubt making Camping Villaggio Rubicone an ideal holiday destination for families with children.
